Introducing Ask A Peer

A new weekly feature from the New Mexico Peer Coalition

Have questions about peer support work, ethics, boundaries, workplace challenges, self-care, or navigating real-life recovery support situations? We’re here to help.

Inspired by classic advice columns like “Ask Abby,” this anonymous and confidential feature offers thoughtful guidance and feedback from experienced Peer Support Workers who understand the unique realities of recovery and peer-based services.

Whether you’re a CPSW, someone in recovery, a family member, or part of the behavioral health community, no question is too small.

Topics may include:
• Ethics & boundaries
• Roles & responsibilities
• Workplace scenarios
• Burnout & self-care
• Communication challenges
• Advocacy & professionalism
• Recovery support questions

Questions can be submitted online anonymously and may be featured in our weekly response series to help support and strengthen the recovery community across New Mexico.

Because sometimes the best person to ask… is a peer.
